Description
BAMS, the short name for Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery, is an undergraduate degree program designed in such a way that it makes students familiar with the integrated concept of Modern Medical Science and Traditional Medicines, i.e. focused on Ayurveda. A Worldwide forum has been provided by the World Health Organisation (WHO) for promoting traditional medicine systems such as Ayurveda. BAMS is one of the most popular courses in the field of medical science apart from the MBBS.
Academic Year: Yearly/Semester
Program Duration: 5 and half years including Internship
Date of Entrance Exam: Probably around last week of Falgun, 2078
Selection Procedure: For both Scholarship and Paying seats, Candidates selection is done by Medical Education Commission (MEC) according to the Merit list of Common Entrance Exam (CEE) conducted by MEC. Selection is done through online matching process.
Eligibility
- Eligibility a. Passed 10+2 Science or equivalent (with Physics, Chemistry and Biology) with 50% aggregate in total marks or GPA 2.4
OR
Secured the percentage equivalent to above eligibility in regards to the certificate level programs (eg. A-Level) with different grading system
OR
- Applicants who have passed the Health Science Proficiency Certificate/Diploma (General Medicine, Medical Lab Technology, Ophthalmic Science, Dental Science, Pharmacy, Ayurveda, Radiography, Physiotherapy) with at least 50% aggregate in total marks
AND
- Registered in Nepal Health Professional Council or Nepal Pharmacy Council or Nepal Ayurveda Council as per related educational program.
