Description
A science that deals with pre-hospital emergency services is called Paramedical science; and a person working in this field is referred to as a paramedic. The major areas of work in the field of paramedical sciences are spinal injury management, fracture management, obstetrics, management of burns and assessment, and evaluation of general accident scene. The increasing demand for skilled paramedical professionals has opened up several career opportunities for young aspirants. The education of optometry was started in 1998 to meet the shortage of eye health professionals in Nepal. Optometry is a health care profession that is autonomous, educated, regulated (licensed/ registered). Bachelor in optometry (B. Optom) course was started with a three years program which was upgraded to four years in 2005 AD. Bachelor in optometry (B. Optom) consists of studies in the basic physical and life sciences, the optometric sciences including optics, ocular anatomy and physiology, visual science, ophthalmic optics, ocular pathology and diseases of the eye and visual system.

The Bachelor of Audiology, Speech and Language Pathology program aims to produce competent and compassionate service oriented audiologists and speech-language pathologists who are capable of identifying, evaluating, treating and rehabilitating the sufferers of speech-language and hearing disorders.

Passed 10+2 Science or equivalent (with Physics, Chemistry and Biology) with 50% aggregate in total marks or GPA 2.4
OR
Secured the Percentage equivalent to above eligibility in regards to the certificate level programs (A-Level) with different grading system
OR
Applicants who have passed the Health Science Proficiency Certificate Level/Diploma (General Medicine, Medical Lab Technology, Ophthalmic Science, DentalScience, Pharmacy, Ayurveda, Radiography, Physiotherapy) containing Physics,Chemistry and Biology with Certificate of Equivalence to Grade 12 Science program from National Examination Board
AND
Secured at least 50% aggregate in total marks both in Diploma and the Examination for equivalence.
AND
Registered in Nepal Health Professional council or Nepal Pharmacy Council orNepal Ayurveda Council as per related educational program.
